Reintroducing the Personal Blog
18 April, 2026
I don’t know about you, but I think modern social media kinda sucks. It is an infinite-scrolling dopamine slot machine designed to trap you in their platform so they can monetize your attention. Infinite information and instantaneous communication were supposed to usher in a golden age in which any person had the sum total of human knowledge at their fingertips and put an end to disagreement born of limited information.
As it happens, tribal psychology is so deeply, fundamentally human that we colonized our information systems with it and allowed it to fester and grow. While the sum total of human knowledge, insight, and understanding is at our fingertips, we seek out echo chambers to confirm what we believe instead of challenging it to find common truth. Polarization and disinformation exploded; fringe conspiracies flourished in an environment where you can seek out like-minded fellows and flip the script to call everyone else deluded and confused.
When people “debate” online in social media, they (largely) are not seeking to understand, but rather to win. They are not conversations exchanging viewpoints, they are talking points delivered to score points. These are pointless. No one will change minds by engaging in this sort of discourse, because it is handled like a late-night comedy set instead of an exchange of ideas to reach mutual understanding – even if it is in the form of compromise.
So here I am, deciding to move over to a quieter corner of the internet. Blog posts, essays, and a place to document various projects. Let’s see how this goes.
